Fun Things to do in NJ

The Garden State has much more to offer than its fertile farmland. In fact, a more apt motto might be “A Garden of FUN!” For locals and tourists, from the shore to the cities, New Jersey is full to bursting with entertaining activities and events the whole family can enjoy.

Sports and Adventure in NJ

Topping the list of fun things to do in NJ is skydiving. When it comes to tandem skydiving in NJ, the place you want to be is at Alexandria Field in Pittstown. That is where you will find the amazing staff of Skydive Jersey whose mission is to make sure you have the experience of a lifetime. They’ll even pick you up from the airport. Whether you’re jumping to commemorate an important event, to raise money, or simply to have a crazy amount of fun, Skydive Jersey has you covered.

Outdoor Leisure in NJ

A collection of fun things to do in New Jersey wouldn’t be complete without mentioning our state’s maritime jewel: the Jersey Shore. Though the party atmosphere runs throughout the area, the vibe depicted on the television show doesn’t tell the whole story. There are a wide variety of family-friendly activities down the shore including chartered fishing trips, camping, carnivals, and romantic dinner cruises complete with dolphin watches.

Amusement Parks in NJ

If you’re a roller coaster aficionado, you won’t want to miss Jackson, NJ’s claim to fame: Six Flags Great Adventure and Safari. Six Flags’ crowning glory is Kingda Ka: North America’s tallest (45 stories in the air!) and fastest (a mind-blowing 128 mph!) coaster. In addition to the awesome rides, Six Flags also offers fun for the wildlife enthusiast at their Safari Offroad Adventure where you can get up close and personal with some of their more than 1200 animals.

Arts and Culture in NJ

New Jersey’s arts and culture scene runs the gamut. It includes museums, theatre, ballet, art galleries, and so much more. One of our favorite venues in this category is just twenty minutes from Alexandria Field in our state’s capital of Trenton: Grounds for Sculpture. In addition to its 270+ sculptures, this unique, 42-acre outdoor sculpture garden also features special exhibitions, lectures, and a variety of seasonal activities. While you’re there, be sure to eat at Rat’s. Make your reservations early, because tables at this little gem are snapped up quickly. Don’t let the name fool you. You can thank us later.
